Yang Chow Fried Rice (Yellow There!)

Ingredients:

2-3 cups of cold day-old rice
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Oil
Salt
MSG (I know I know but just a little bit won't hurt you. In the words of Vogue food critic/Iron Chef America judge Jeffrey Steingarten, "If MSG is bad for you, why doesn't everyone in China have a headache?")
Diced Chinese sausage (I bet it has MSG)/Spam/charsiu pork/chopped cooked shrimp if you have it
Handful of green Peas
Half an onion, minced
Thumb-sized piece of ginger, minced
A sprinkle of turmeric (aha!)
Patis (fish sauce)

Saute onion and ginger, add sausage/Spam/pork/shrimp green peas. Pour in egg and mix until scrambled and separated. Season with MSG, salt, and add turmeric until yellow. Remove contents from wok. Add a little oil, put in the rice – make sure every grain is heated (pressing against the sides of the wok will do the trick). Add in the egg mixture, mix well. Season with patis. Best eaten with a hefty dose of Bridezilla.
